It's Been a Wild Ride, I Wouldn't Change a Minute.

Welcome Back! If you read my last blog, thanks for following along and I hope I can keep your interest with the first actual entry about the music of 311 from the ears, heart and mind of an excitable. This month I put Uplifter on my turntable and set the needle to play the first track on the album, "Hey You".  In my opinion, Uplifter is such an underrated album.  I could listen to it on repeat again and again, but we'll get to the rest of those songs another time.  Today is about "Hey You".   "Hey You" is a hidden gem.  When I hear a song for the first time, I listen to the beat and the mix of all of the instruments together.  I was a pretty involved music student through all of my school years, I studied music in college and I really grew to love the different types of music that stream through my headphones day in and day out.  I listen to 311 more than any other music in my library, but there are many out there that are 311 Music Experts!...

Please, tell me your stories...

Well, you clicked on the link... let's see if I can make the reading worth your while. 311 ...  'Member Them ??   Aww... they're so cute and young! :) 311.  Where do I even begin!? Earlier in the Spring of '24 I was finding my love for 311 growing by the day.  The music, the lyrics, the vibe and feeling I would get just sitting and listening to 311 for hours upon hours.  It never got old, to me anyways...  After I got out of my little bubble I realized that there are SO MANY people that don't even know who 311 is!  😲 This was a shock to me, little miss small town Nebraska who had followed the guys since they began.  In High School our local radio station (Hits 106 in Kearney, NE) would play ALL of the music from 311 and a few other bands that people just don't even know who they are.  I realized that this was such a shame.  Here I am, 46 years old and trying to introduce music to people who already have their set taste in music.  ...
